GoDaddy Web Hosting

GoDaddy web hosting (www.godaddy.com) delivers the essentials riding on the success of GoDaddy’s domain name registration service. Along with their snappy name, the company has a host of awards to its credit, placing it securely in the leader’s niche in domain name and domain management. This expertise makes it a no-brainer that GoDaddy should host customer web sites too. Here’s your domain, sir, and here’s the website to back it up.

Like BlueHost, GoDaddy’s CEO posts on his own blog. The infamous Bob Parsons is definitely up to speed in the domain name business, and is a leader in addressing issues and abuses in the industry. Like Bob Parson’s clear and no-nonsense approach to his writing, the GoDaddy shared web hosting offerings are simple and no-nonsense products. Extras can be paid for, like a blog engine and upgrades, and prices are clearly stated. The company offers a “sweet-spot” hosting solution with a best-value bundle, clearly marked if one browses around their site a little.

All the basic features are there–disk space, traffic, email accounts, with more databases under management than other hosted solutions–10 for the entry level product. Interestingly, web site statistics are an extra to be paid for, allowing the basic home user who just wants a site to be able to save a few dollars. A slight negative is their unconventional quoting of disk and traffic data sizes in MB rather than in GB, giving at first glance, an impression of more data than is actually supplied. Apart from this, the quotes and web site are also simple and clear. I enjoyed the access to information and the ease of use attention that has obviously been put in.

GoDaddy is a hosting provider targeting the low-cost portion of the market and their service offering does not disappoint, with a basic starting site cost of $3.99 per month. With 50 GB of disk space this is certainly a generous service offering!

GoDaddy has focused on its customer take on too – with a 24 by 7 account setup service. They also offer 24 by 7 telephonic support. GoDaddy provides a very different service level too: 24 by 7 support for billing queries. This makes their customer service channel one of the more complete support offerings available.

GoDaddy provides all the web hosting features offered by competitors, and they then crown this off by bringing their domain and deep internet technology savvy to the party. For technical peace-of-mind from a strong registrar, GoDaddy is the choice for many.

GoDaddy Selects Approved Super Bowl Ads

Posted in News on January 16th, 2009 by news – Be the first to comment

Scottsdale, Arizona – (The Hosting News) – January 16, 2009 – Having had two commercials that have been approved by network censors in this year’s Super Bowl broadcast, GoDaddy invited the public, to choose which one to broadcast.

This is the first time that Go Daddy has attained two commercial approvals in such a time frame. The question remains, however, which thirty-second commercial will air? Go Daddy CEO and Founder Bob Parsons invites the public to cast votes online. Both versions are available at the company’s website.

Mr. Parsons explained, ”I’m looking forward to seeing how people vote – I like both ads. I say we give the viewers what they want to see.”

Both approved ads are GoDaddy-esque, meaning the ads are fun, edgy and slightly inappropriate, as is the Go Daddy tradition. Both spots feature IndyCar’s most popular driver and Go Daddy Girl Danica Patrick.

The first option features Danica taking a shower with another woman as three college students watch.

Mr. Parsons continued, ”The ‘Shower’ commercial is the one people usually pick sight unseen. It’s hot all right, no doubt about it, but the twist is what really makes this ad great.”

The second option, like Go Daddy’s legendary 2005 Super Bowl ad, spoofs a controversial issue. Baseball takes on the steroids scandal in typical GoDaddy-esque style. Its cast includes recurring character actor Booth Colman, who appeared in the original Go Daddy Super Bowl ad, and CEO Bob Parsons. Both ads were created in-house by Go Daddy Productions.

AdWeek advertising expert Barbara Lippert has a history of panning Go Daddy ads, but was unusually critical after previewing the baseball spoof. Mr. Lippert remarked, ”This is lower than the usual Go Daddy low – it’s pathetic.”

Go Daddy has a history of notoriety, when it comes to Super Bowl campaigns. Go Daddy’s first-ever Super Bowl ad in 2005 parodied the infamous wardrobe malfunction. The FOX network pulled the ad before airing it a second time in that game, generating an avalanche of publicity.

Beyond its risque reputation, the company has generated business along with the buzz. Go Daddy’s 2006 Super Bowl ad generated unprecedented Web traffic. Its 2007 spot was honored by IAG as the Most-Recalled commercial of the entire year. Last year, FOX censors refused to approve Go Daddy’s Exposure ad, so Parsons quickly developed another commercial encouraging viewers to watch the intended Super Bowl ad online. The broadcast commercial produced 1.5MM Go Daddy Web hits before the game ended.

Clearly, the Super Bowl commercials have boosted Go Daddy’s bottom line. Prior to the first Super Bowl ad, Go Daddy’s market share was 16 percent. That number climbed after each Super Bowl campaign. Today, Go Daddy’s market share of new domains is an overwhelming 46 percent, putting Go Daddy at a level more than three times the size of its closest competitor.

To vote on which commercial you want to see in next month’s Super Bowl broadcast, visit www.GoDaddy.com. Voting ends Friday, Jan. 23, 2009.

GoDaddy Develops New Merchant Solution

Posted in News on December 2nd, 2008 by news – Be the first to comment

Scottsdale, Arizona – (Cheap Web Hosting Directory) – December 2, 2008 – Web hosting and domain registrar provider, Go Daddy, has developed a new solution for online merchants, to leverage its Quick Shopping Cart tool, for business growth.

The Quick Shopping Cart was developed to create a fully functional e-commerce Web site for companies doing business exclusively online, or brick and motor stores looking to expand their Internet presence.

Bob Parsons, CEO and Founder of Go Daddy explained, ”The Internet is where the action is these days, and we don’t see that changing. Quick Shopping Cart makes it about as painless as possible for merchants to get online. Once their customers visit the e-commerce site, they discover it’s both reliable and easy to use – which translates into dollars.”

Go Daddy’s Quick Shopping Cart statistics, comparing July, August and September of this year to last, reveal an increase of more than 100 percent, in terms of revenue generated and the number of different vendors selling products. The trend shows no sign of slowing.

More businesses are turning to the Web as a revenue stream, especially as the economy struggles. According to IDC, nearly half of all Internet users will make online purchases in 2009,i which explains why more businesses are expanding their potential customer base on the Internet.

Overall statistics point to financial gains on sites equipped with Quick Shopping Cart. Consider Hanh Court. His online store, www.Shop.3BSpecialties.com, concentrates on automobile lighting. During the third quarter alone, the site recorded a 115 percent surge in revenue this year over last.

Mr. Court remarked, ”Let’s face it, everyone is looking to save money these days. Quick Shopping Cart works because it’s an e-commerce tool that is priced right for me and helps customers cut to the chase as far as inventory and purchase paths.

Quick Shopping Cart handles inventory and shipping calculations on the fly. It also is able to sync with QuickBooks for business owners looking to keep their accounting in order on a single program. Built on Go Daddy’s Web hosting infrastructure and using an SSL Certificate, Quick Shopping lets anyone take advantage of the fast-growing Internet audience.

GoDaddy Web Hosting Firm, Reports SSL Certificate Surge

Posted in News on October 31st, 2008 by news – Be the first to comment

Scottsdale, Arizona – (Cheap Web Hosting Directory) – October 31, 2008 – Netcraft’s October report, has indicated a surge in SSL Certificates for 65.8 percent of the market share, at GoDaddy web hosting and domain registrar.

Go Daddy CEO and Founder Bob Parsons noted, ”Why wouldn’t people come to Go Daddy. We offer customers the very same SSL Cert as our higher priced competitors do, but at a fraction of the cost. Nowadays people are looking for ways to save money. This is an easy way to do it.”

As more and more people focus on the Web, SSL Certificates are becoming even more popular, especially at Go Daddy where they are available for as much as 75 percent less than the competition. An SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) Certificate enables encryption of online transactions and communications. They are essential for ecommerce Web sites.

In addition to providing the same security level other SSL providers’ offer, all Go Daddy certificates include an unlimited server license, potentially saving companies thousands of dollars.

Mr. Parsons added, ”Our competitors require their customers to purchase a certificate for every server they have. Go Daddy allows customers to use their certificate on as many servers as they choose. It doesn’t matter if you have ten, fifty or one-thousand servers.

The customer-centric strategy appears to be successful for everyone. Netcraft reports Go Daddy added close to twenty thousand certificates during the last three months. While both the SSL industry and Go Daddy gained market share overall, two other major Certificate Authorities actually lost share. Netcraft, a leading industry analyst, also ranks Go Daddy as the second largest SSL provider overall.

An SSL Certificate enables encryption of online transactions and communications. GoDaddy.com SSL Certificates are offered in three assurance validation levels: Standard, Deluxe and Premium SSL. All GoDaddy.com certificates offer up to 256-bit encryption.

In addition to owning the majority of the net new SSL market, Go Daddy is the world leader for Web sites hosted with SSL Certificates, according to Netcraft. Not bad when you consider Go Daddy started providing Secure Certificates in May 2004.

Go Daddy has recently introduced Code Signing Certificates. These enable anyone distributing software via the Internet to show their customers the software can be trusted. The certificate confirms publisher details and protects customers from inadvertently installing unauthorized software.

Recently, GoDaddy enhanced its customer feedback system, to include valuable upgrades, translating its user suggestions into benefits for clients. The new program is part of Go Daddy’s continued efforts to improve products and services, based on input from many of its six million customers who call Go Daddy for help, or to suggest product improvements.

Scottsdale, Arizona – (Cheap Web Hosting Directory) – September 23, 2008 – Web hosting domain registrar, GoDaddy, has been keenly focused on the momentous bill designed to keep the Internet safe for children, recently passed in the Senate.

The bi-partisan bill is designed to protect children from online predators. Go Daddy has worked long and hard to help shape this legislation. President Bush is expected to sign this into law quickly. Congress is poised to pass another piece of legislation Go Daddy has supported with work in Washington, including testifying before Congress, aimed at preventing rogue pharmacies from operating on the Internet.

The Children Protection bill was modified to incorporate pieces of Senators McCain, Biden, Clinton’s proposed bills. It is poised to be approved and sent to President Bush where he is expected to sign this important legislation into law. These bills will make positive improvements to the ability of law enforcement agencies to effectively investigate Internet crimes against children and to prosecute online predators.

Go Daddy routinely works with law enforcement and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, along with the investigation and shut down of thousands of inappropriate child modeling sites linked to pornography. Go Daddy has testified before Congress various times regarding this important matter. Oprah Winfrey recently voiced her support of The Combating Child Exploitation Act of 2008 as well. The next step involves the bill being given to the United States President to be signed into law.

Recently, GoDaddy completed the redesign of its multimedia component, in order to give users more videos and interactive content, quickly and easily. GoDaddy.TV has expanded, as .TV extension grows in popularity. According to ComScore, more than 11 billion videos were viewed by Americans in July 2008 – up two billion views from just one year ago. Many companies are looking for inexpensive ways to alert visitors to key multimedia elements on their site. Using .TV lets everyone know a site features the power of online video and other multimedia aspects.

The new GoDaddy.TV layout gives users easy access to exclusive videos from Danica Patrick, Dale Earnhardt Jr. and the much publicized GoDaddy-esque Super Bowl commercials, plus more. The new Event Gallery offers Go Daddy Girls’ video, photos and blogs.

Go Daddy also used its expertise to organize online donations, helped answer phones and kept the live event’s Web site running smoothly. If you watched the telethon you know Go Daddy donated in ‘GoDaddy-esque’ style too – having their CEO’s own dogs deliver the donation on live television.

This is the third consecutive year Go Daddy co-sponsored the telethon to help animals.

Tim Crum, Executive Director of the Arizona Humane Society remarked, ”Members of our organization are still talking about what a huge help Go Daddy was to us from the start. One year, Go Daddy jumped in to save the telethon’s online component, the next year they helped to significantly increase our online contributions and this year they helped us reach our goal in donations.”

While many companies are cutting back resources these days, Go Daddy is expanding its workforce, recorded an Internet-first for number of domain name registrations and made more charitable donations already this year than last.

GoDaddy Reaches 30 Million Domains

Posted in News on June 26th, 2008 by news – Be the first to comment

Scottsdale, Arizona – (Cheap Web Hosting Directory) – June 26, 2008 – Web hosting domain registrar, GoDaddy, with domain name RulesOfSaving.com, has marked a historic milestone and an industry record, of 30 million domain names.

While reports of a wavering economy and surging oil prices dominate the news, this Internet-first reflects thriving conditions on the Web and at GoDaddy.com. More and more people and businesses are moving to establish their own space on the Internet.

Go Daddy is registering, renewing and transferring names used for Web site addresses to the tune of about one every second of every day. This flies in the face of critics who, years ago, suggested the surge to register domain names was all but over.

Bob Parsons, CEO and Founder at Go Daddy explained, ”These numbers really demonstrate how the Internet is alive and well, even in these rough financial times. We knew from the start, helping make it easy and affordable for people to get online would make a difference. That’s why we developed products our customers wanted, priced them right and then backed them up with personal customer service… and, well the rest is history.”

Go Daddy is also racking up substantial e-commerce numbers, which align with industry analyst predictions. Forrester Research forecasts online spending in 2008 will increase by 17 percent. Go Daddy expects even higher numbers. The Web leader’s Quick Shopping Cart is a key e-commerce tool because it makes setting up an online store easy and affordable. Projections, based on recent months, indicate a 72 percent increase this year over last, in terms of revenue generated by customers with Quick Shopping Cart enabled Web sites.

Ironically, the 30 millionth domain name, RulesOfSaving.com, could be viewed as a sign of times, as far as the struggling U.S. economy or as a nod to Go Daddy’s low price points. While many registrars charge more than Go Daddy, some have even raised prices in recent days.

Go Daddy has a 45 percent market share of active, new domain names and is nearly three times the size of its closest competitor. Go Daddy is also one of the world’s leading providers when it comes to Web hosting and SSL certificates, which are used to keep online transactions secure.

Go Daddy has expanded its workforce to keep up with its rapid growth, its four offices including one in Arizona, and one each in Colorado, Iowa and Washington, D.C.

While many companies are looking for ways to cut back, Go Daddy is hiring more and more employees. Go Daddy now employs more than two-thousand people, which is up about 33 percent in fewer than three years. Go Daddy is known as an employer that takes care of its own too, having been honored as one of the Best Places to Work for four consecutive years.

Go Daddy is a provider of services designed to enable individuals and businesses to establish, maintain and evolve an online presence. Go Daddy provides a variety of domain name registration plans and web site design and hosting packages, as well as a broad array of on-demand services. These include products such as SSL Certificates, Domains by Proxy private registration, ecommerce web site hosting, blog templates and blog software, podcast packages and online photo hosting. Scottsdale, Arizona – (Cheap Web Hosting Directory) – June 5, 2008 – GoDaddy’s SSL certificates, have been chosen by major technology suppliers, Dell, Imperva, OPNET and SmugMug.

Dell is an online commerce pioneer and a leader in computer systems and services. Imperva is a leader in application data security. OPNET is a leading provider of solutions for managing networks and applications. SmugMug is a leading photo-sharing site.

Go Daddy SSL Secure Certificates enable a server and a browser to establish a secure, encrypted connection to protect data during transmission. SSL certs are the standard when it comes to protecting important information including, credit card numbers, passwords and social security numbers.

Bob Parsons, CEO and Founder of GoDaddy remarked, ”It’s great to see Dell, Opnet, SmugMug, Imperva and so many other big companies taking advantage of our SSL certificates. All of our customers get the same functionality, stringent vetting standards and reliability as any other cert in the industry. If you could get an identical product for a fraction of the price, why wouldn’t you do it?”

Andy Lark, Vice President of marketing and communications, and head of Dell.com remarked, ”As a company with a strong online presence, security is vital to our success. Privacy and security are an uncompromising commitment we make to millions of customers every day.”

Mark Kraynak, Senior Director of Strategic Marketing at Imperva commented, ”The decision on which certificate provider we chose to use was simple. Go Daddy makes it easy. They have reliable customer support, an excellent product and the price is right.”

These industry heavyweights aren’t the only ones using Go Daddy’s SSL Certificates, smaller businesses see the value as well. In fact, in the latest Netcraft report, Go Daddy showed the largest growth in number of SSL certificates issued.

Present at the festivities, were Mr. Parsons’ mother, brother and sister.

Mr. Parsons served as the keynote speaker for the ceremony in which more than 375 Yale Gordon School of Liberal Arts and Merrick School of Business students graduated. He was interrupted with cheers and laughter more than a dozen times during his fifteen minute address. A Baltimore Sun writer called Parsons’ address ”one of the most rousing of this commencement season.” Others in attendance described it as ”inspiring” and ”refreshing.”

Mr. Parsons founded GoDaddy.com which registers web site addresses and is the world leader almost three times over. While he is a self-taught computer programmer honored for innovation and business savvy, he is perhaps best-known for his marketing genius made famous with his risque 2005 Super Bowl ad. Scottsdale, Arizona – (Cheap Web Hosting Directory) – May 20, 2008 – Go Daddy’s racing car, recently debuted with NASCAR’s most popular driver, Dale Earnhardt Jr., at the Texas Motor Speedway.

Shortly after becoming a spokesman for Go Daddy, the two-time Nationwide Series champion designed the sleek black, orange and green vehicle.

Mr. Earnhardt noted, ”I was excited about it when I designed it. Now I just can’t wait to get it out there. We’re looking forward to a great run in the No. 5 GoDaddy.com Chevrolet.”

Go Daddy announced its Earnhardt sponsorship in December, after signing a deal with JR Motorsports and Hendrick Motorsports. The two organizations officially combined operations for the NASCAR Nationwide Series after the 2007 racing schedule.

The agreement made Go Daddy the primary sponsor for the No. 5 NASCAR Nationwide Series Chevrolets for six races in 2008. Mark Martin, the all-time leader in Nationwide victories, will also drive the No. 5 GoDaddy.com Chevrolet this year. Martin has already scored a victory this season at the Sam’s Town 300 in Las Vegas. Also driving for Go Daddy this season is Canadian road racing ace Ron Fellows.

Bob Parsons, Go Daddy CEO and Founder remarked, ”NASCAR fans eat, drink and breathe this sport. They are incredibly loyal. The sport is exhilarating and our sponsorship is just a great match all the way around. We believe our car, our drivers and our partnership are a formula for fun and success.”

Nationwide Series races are broadcast live on ABC, ESPN and ESPN2. Last year, the series drew millions of TV viewers. Its popularity made the sponsorship an easy decision for Go Daddy.
