Senate Bill, Supported by GoDaddy, Passes
Scottsdale, Arizona – (Cheap Web Hosting Directory) – September 23, 2008 – Web hosting domain registrar, GoDaddy, has been keenly focused on the momentous bill designed to keep the Internet safe for children, recently passed in the Senate.
The bi-partisan bill is designed to protect children from online predators. Go Daddy has worked long and hard to help shape this legislation. President Bush is expected to sign this into law quickly. Congress is poised to pass another piece of legislation Go Daddy has supported with work in Washington, including testifying before Congress, aimed at preventing rogue pharmacies from operating on the Internet.
The Children Protection bill was modified to incorporate pieces of Senators McCain, Biden, Clinton’s proposed bills. It is poised to be approved and sent to President Bush where he is expected to sign this important legislation into law. These bills will make positive improvements to the ability of law enforcement agencies to effectively investigate Internet crimes against children and to prosecute online predators.
Go Daddy routinely works with law enforcement and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, along with the investigation and shut down of thousands of inappropriate child modeling sites linked to pornography. Go Daddy has testified before Congress various times regarding this important matter. Oprah Winfrey recently voiced her support of The Combating Child Exploitation Act of 2008 as well. The next step involves the bill being given to the United States President to be signed into law.
Recently, GoDaddy completed the redesign of its multimedia component, in order to give users more videos and interactive content, quickly and easily. GoDaddy.TV has expanded, as .TV extension grows in popularity. According to ComScore, more than 11 billion videos were viewed by Americans in July 2008 – up two billion views from just one year ago. Many companies are looking for inexpensive ways to alert visitors to key multimedia elements on their site. Using .TV lets everyone know a site features the power of online video and other multimedia aspects.
The new GoDaddy.TV layout gives users easy access to exclusive videos from Danica Patrick, Dale Earnhardt Jr. and the much publicized GoDaddy-esque Super Bowl commercials, plus more. The new Event Gallery offers Go Daddy Girls’ video, photos and blogs.
