SharePoint Hosting, from Alentus
Toronto, Canada - (Website Hosting Directory) - September 11, 2007 - Training, professional services, web parts and custom development solutions provider for Microsoft SharePoint Products and Technologies, SharePointHQ, along with Internet Services firm, Alentus, have created a joint SharePoint hosting and implementation solution.
The SharePoint services partnership, with hosting through Alentus Internet Services’ Turnkey SharePoint offerings and SharePoint implementation through SharePointHQ’s SharePoint JumpStart solutions, allows companies to quickly host and implement both Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 and Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 across their entire organization.
Microsoft Office SharePoint Server and Windows SharePoint Services are Microsoft’s collaborative portal applications that allow users to connect and collaborate within an organization. Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 has experienced explosive growth since its release with a 35% year-over-year increase in sales based on revenues of $800 million for the year ending June 30, 2007. Since SharePoint’s inception in 2001, Microsoft has sold 85 million licenses worldwide to over 17,000 companies.
Hans Leuschner, Vice-President, Sales and Marketing at SharePointHQ noted, ”We are extremely pleased to have entered into this partnership with Alentus. We are now able to provide a SharePoint hosting option to our professional services clients. For companies that are looking for a single solution for SharePoint hosting, installation, and implementation there is a lack of choice in the marketplace. Our partnership with Alentus now gives enterprises the choice of having their SharePoint hosting, installation and implementation provided through a single source.”
Darren Hauch, Vice-President and General Manager at Alentus Internet Services offered, ”The partnership between Alentus Internet Services and SharePointHQ is an ideal complement of services. Professional clients are provided with the option to find their SharePoint solution in one place, with Alentus Internet Services network infrastructure and hosting, and implementation and integration services with SharePointHQ. As a complete SharePoint solution, the partnership extends our SharePoint service offerings. It’s a wonderful fit for Alentus Internet Services, and we are pleased to be a part of it.”

I would not recommend Alentus. I’ve been using them for about 8 months for multiple web sites, Exchange and SharePoint. They have downtime problems. Right now my email has been down for more than 20 hours. Their customer support is the worst - not helpful, responsive or communicative.
Also you should know they don’t host the Exchange and SharePoint. So when there is a problem, like I have now, their response is “it isn’t our problem, there’s nothing we can do about it”. There’s no taking responsibility at Alentus. No phone, no chat - just slow email response that isn’t useful.
Search around the web and youll find that the past year Alentus service and quality has gone down and customers are leaving. You don’t need the Alentus customer service problems. You can find a better solution.

So true, I just used them for a month and a half (too long) to realize that it’s just a waste of time (and money) I paid for a year in advance. What a mistake. I don’t recommend them.
