Designed to provide knowledge and training in connection with web-based data center technologies,
3Tera’s Grid University will offer more than 30 online courses that provide live, interactive education on utility computing for web applications. The educational sessions are designed to enable Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) companies, enterprise users, hosting providers and open source developers to understand, and make effective business use of, these new technologies for web-based data center operations. To address all use cases and skill sets, Grid University is comprised of three course levels: General Knowledge, Grid Usage and Grid Maintenance. To meet the high level of interest in training, starting today, the courses will be held each Tuesday at 4:00 pm (PST) and each Friday at 10:00 am (PST), and are free of charge to all attendees.

Sessions are offered in General Knowledge, Grid Usage and Grid Maintenance levels. The General Knowledge level is ideal for those considering utility computing. Sessions start with a two-hour Welcome to Grid U course which presents a comprehensive overview of grid and utility computing. The Grid Usage level courses are designed for those who are actively evaluating AppLogic, or who use AppLogic grids. It starts with a two-hour Grid Boot Camp and provides a step-by-step guide on how to run, deploy, provision and operate online applications. The Grid Maintenance sessions are designed for system administrators and operations managers at hosting provider’s data centers. The sessions cover the process of how to install, configure and manage the grid infrastructure. All courses include a live Q&A session immediately following the prepared material. All courses will be available as an online video recording for later reference.
