3Tera Gains Hires VERITAS Executive

Aliso Viejo, California - (The Hosting News) - March 7, 2007 - Utility computing solutions firm, 3Tera, Inc., has appointed 20-year industry veteran, and former VERITAS executive, Nick Blozan, to the position of Senior Vice President of its Worldwide Sales.

Mr. Blozan will utilize his knowledge of the Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) market and on-demand delivery platforms to lead 3Tera’s strategic sales and business development initiatives. A proven sales and IT executive with a history of achieving aggressive sales growth, Mr. Blozan comes to 3Tera from OpSource, where he served as Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing, and played a significant role in establishing the company as the leader in the SaaS delivery market in less than two years. Mr. Blozan will now work closely with 3Tera’s management team, and the company’s partners, to drive adoption of 3Tera’s new grid and utility services by SaaS companies, enterprises and hosting providers worldwide.

Vlad Miloushev, President and CEO of 3Tera, Inc. remarked, “Software-as-a-Service companies are moving away from costly and restrictive managed hosting, and are looking to leverage completely virtualized data centers to efficiently and cost-effectively deploy, manage and scale web applications according to demand. Nick shares our vision for SaaS, and his extensive experience in sales, strategic alliances and business development will be a strong addition to 3Tera’s executive team.”

David Thomas, Executive Director, Software Division, Software and Information Industry Association added, “I’ve worked closely with Nick as the chairman of the SIIA SaaS Executive Council. The SIIA is very active in educating the industry about Software-as-a-Service and how it is affecting the traditional software business model. As the chair, Nick was very efficient in driving that effort for the benefit of the entire industry, and continues to play a key role in defining SIIA’s overall SaaS strategy. I’m confident his leadership will also be a strategic asset to 3Tera.”

Mr. Bozan commented, “I am excited to be joining 3Tera at this time because the world is moving away from the traditional software model to a services-centric model. 3Tera’s AppLogic platform provides SaaS, Web 2.0 and even enterprise companies the ability to rapidly deploy, scale and manage Web applications without having to own or operate hardware infrastructure, and to pay only for the resources they actually use.”

Mr. Blozan has over 20 years of experience in high technology sales and marketing including various positions in product management and engineering. He brings to 3Tera a wealth of sales experience both in direct and channel sales for software and services companies. Prior to joining 3Tera, Mr. Blozan served as Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing at OpSource, an infrastructure service provider that helps companies move to a SaaS model, where he had a significant role in establishing the company as the leader in the SaaS delivery market in less than two years. Before OpSource, he was Vice President of Marketing for Allocity, a storage management company, where he led all aspects of marketing and product management. He helped build Allocity until it was acquired by EMCin October, 2004. Prior to Allocity, Mr. Blozan held various positions at VERITAS for over eight years, and most recently was responsible for developing and driving the Microsoft Windows strategy for the company. While at VERITAS, he spent over three years in Australia and New Zealand, where he was responsible for all channel sales, OEM business as well as managing strategic alliances with significant partners including Microsoft, Oracle, Brocade and Cisco.
