GoDaddy Denver Facility to Open
Scottsdale, Arizona – (Cheap Web Hosting Directory) – September 11, 2007 – Web hosting domain registrar, GoDaddy, will open a new facility in Denver. As the move offers Go Daddy the benefit of tapping the Denver community’s talent pool, immediate employment opportunities for software developers are anticipated.
Bob Parsons, Founder and CEO of Go Daddy explained, ”This just made sense for us and for our customers. We have more than 220 award-winning developers working in our Arizona and Iowa offices right now. As we continue to grow, we need to expand our development teams and Denver is a great place to recruit new talent.”
According to the company, Go Daddy creates, maintains and owns substantially all the technology behind its 37 product offerings. Go Daddy has a domain name registrar portfolio more than twice the size of its closest rival in the intensely competitive tech industry. The company’s web site is a designed as a one-stop shop, where people may find everything needed to create and maintain an online presence.
Go Daddy was honored just last week as the ”Most Innovative Company” by the Arizona Corporate Excellence organization. Mr. Parsons was also named Arizona’s ”Business Leader of the Year” in 2007. Go Daddy enjoys a rich employment history. Since 2004, the company has made the Phoenix area’s list of ”Best Places to Work” every year. Go Daddy also ranked in a recent CNN Money list of ”Best Employee Perks” because Mr. Parsons routinely rewards top performers with unusual gifts like cash, cars and exotic trips, and has even paid people’s mortgages for an entire year. The outspoken CEO insists on footing the tax bill because, as he says, an employee shouldn’t be penalized for the perk.”
Mr. Parsons also refuses to offshore or out source a single job, in order to maintain high-quality customer service. With business booming, Go Daddy already has nearly 1,800 employees. The Scottsdale-based company already has five facilities in Arizona, which include locations in Phoenix, Tempe and Gilbert, as well as an office in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and a full-time presence in Washington, D.C. The newest Go Daddy office is at 8400 E. Crescent Parkway in Greenwood Village, Colorado. That’s about 20 minutes from downtown Denver, in the heart of the Denver Technology Center, with easy access to I-25 and I-225.
Go Daddy also ranked number 2 on the ACE ”25 Fastest-Growing” companies list and number 20 on the ACE ”Top 50” companies list. ACE seeks to recognize the significant impact Arizona’s largest privately held companies have on the community, the state’s economy and employee families. ACE judges are all top-ranking business leaders.
Go Daddy was rewarded for its innovation in product development, customer care ingenuity and originality in employee incentive practices. Go Daddy CEO and Founder Bob Parsons was asked to reveal the secret of his success.
Bob Parsons, Founder and CEO of Go Daddy remarked, ”We know something other companies don’t. That is, when it comes to doing business, people like to use the Internet, but when it comes to learning how to use web products, people much prefer to talk to real people.”
Mr. Parsons’ products are considered some of the lowest priced in the industry, but his emphasis from the start has been on customer service. Mr. Parsons refuses to offshore or out source a single job. Of the Scottsdale-based company’s nearly 1,800 employees, 60 percent of them work in customer service.
Mr. Parsons explained, ”Our customers know they can dial one number and talk to someone who will help them solve problems right then and there.”
Chip Fisher of ACE added, ”What really impressed us was how Go Daddy developers actually listen-in on customer calls to learn more about what the customers want in a product or service. It’s pretty rare these days not only to get such good customer support on the telephone, but also to have developers who will adapt a product to the customers’ needs and wants – now that’s innovative.”
Some 225 in-house developers are responsible for almost all of the 37 Go Daddy product offerings. One of Go Daddy’s most widely used is Domains By Proxy, a patented service used throughout the industry to protect the personal information of those who register domain names.
Mr. Parsons, who was named Arizona’s Business Leader of the Year in 2007, is also known for his generosity with employees. Go Daddy ranked on a CNN.com list of ”Best Employee Perks” for creative incentives, such as paying top performers’ mortgages for a year. He routinely gives away cash, cars, motorcycles and exotic trips, and insists on footing the tax bill. Why? He believes happy employees are excited to come to work, which then translates to the customer and becomes contagious, leading to word-of-mouth evangelism.
Recently, for the fourth consecutive year, Go Daddy was selected among a group of companies, to be awarded the WebTrust Seal of Assurance for its Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) Certificates. Go Daddy SSL Certificates can be placed on web sites to ensure your transactions are safer. Bob Parsons, Founder and CEO of Go Daddy remarked, ”We want consumers to know their personal data and business transactions online are secure. That’s why we offer a variety of superior SSL Certificates that can be placed on Web sites to provide for the encryption of sensitive data and give those web sites additional credibility. These certificates are for more than just e-commerce. They can also help protect your personal information.”
