Time for a Godaddy Redesign?

Godaddy Redesign Needed?

Godaddy.com needs a redesign, some say. My personal pet peeve in my navigations through Godaddy is the feeling that I may have stumbled into another type of site, that is a niche of ill repute other than web hosting. Attractive women posing with “no thanks” at the bottom of page in small print. I’ll stop here.

Anyway, if you have used Godaddy domain registration service or hosting products, you may have noticed the difficulty in to the final destination in checkout process. I’ve noticed some problems too. Here’s a pretty detailed criticism of GoDaddy’s 16-step checkout process which may be “brainless marketing at its finest.” A great article on the sheer stupidity of the GoDaddy checkout process. They truly are the 16 gates of hell. The author asks, “Why would a company do this to its customers?”

What is your impression of the current Godaddy.com site design?

I think that might be due to security reason, anyway the long process for checkout is really annoying.

I’ve thought this for a very, very long time. Godaddy cannot for the life of them offer an EASY path of navigation. Seems like they’d rather upsell out the wazoo than provide some quality services.

I think they have built up such a name for themselves, that it has positively affected their abandon rates. Still… I agree it’s painfully long. On the other hand, if you are familiar with their checkout, you can easily purchas a domain in under 2 minutes.

yes godaddy.com should see the design concept of 24hrsdomain.com . 24hrsdomain.com front end design is very much user friendly.

I actually like godaddys design. I am so use to it. And with over 300 domain names if they started changing stuff around I would be lost!
As far as domain names go, I really think go daddy has it together. As far as there hosting goes I have not heard great things about their support.
The complaints I heard was they take a while to get back to you, and it is limited on what they can do. I personally use getinspace.com
They are a smaller company, but on a killer fiber network. There is a lot of attention to detail. The main thing I love is the personalized service!
They are usually there to answer phone, or get back super fast, and will go as far as command line to your box and try and help you work out whatever problem you may be having.
